ION Media Networks, Inc. owns and operates the largest U.S. broadcast television station group and ION Television, the country’s only independent broadcast television network. ION Media Networks is moving television forward in three dimensions: broadcasting, multicasting and datacasting. Completed digital broadcast facility upgrades allow the Company to provide a broadband platform using enhanced digital terrestrial spectrum capacity. In addition to delivering the main television network, this capacity is used to multicast multiple, new, over-the-air digital networks, as well as to datacast non-television content and information.

OMVC
In 2007, transmission of full-motion digital television signals to mobile and handheld devices was proven technically feasible. Leaders of the broadcasting industry came together to make mobile digital television a reality; they formed the Open Mobile Video Coalition (OMVC) to accelerate the development and rollout of mobile DTV products and services, maximizing the full potential of the digital television spectrum.
Today the OMVC truly represents the industry, with members that own and operate more than 800 commercial and public television stations nationwide.
