This Privacy Policy describes the online collection of information by ION Media Networks, Inc., hereafter, ("ION") from you. We may collect and store information that is generated automatically as you move around in our website. We may collect and store information we receive directly from you. Unless you inform us otherwise, we reserve the right to use and to disclose to third parties, information collected from you while you use our website. If this is contrary to your wishes, you must send an email or letter to us requesting to be taken off any lists of information that may be used for these purposes or that may be given or sold to third parties.

Consistent with legal requirements and our Privacy Policy concerns, ION will adhere to the following guidelines: We will not collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen as part of the operation of our website. Whenever personal information is requested, we will screen users to prevent those under thirteen from providing such information. ION’s policy in this regard will require us to delete information inadvertently obtained from a user under the age of thirteen.

We will not knowingly permit children under the age of thirteen to post or otherwise distribute personally identifiable contact information through the website. Since we will not solicit or collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen as part of the operation of our website, we will not condition the participation in the activities of the website of a child under the age of thirteen on providing personally identifiable information.

Use of Information

Information collected by ION is used internally by authorized ION employees for three main purposes. First, we collect information to figure out how to improve our website by seeing which areas, features and products are most popular. Second, we collect information in order to personalize the website for our members. For example, in the future, we may recommend products or features you may like based on what you have liked in the past or based upon interests which you have told us you are or your family is interested in. Last, we collect information to enable the user and their family to participate in sweepstakes, contests and other activities on our website. On occasion, ION may also share non-personal, summary information regarding our customers with unrelated third parties (for example, we publicly disclose the aggregate number of registered users of our website). However, ION does not share any personally identifiable information about any particular user with unrelated third parties.

Cookies

ION may sometimes use a feature of your Internet Web browser called a "cookie" to assign a unique identification to your computer. Cookies are files that your web browser places on your computer's hard drive. We use these cookie files to track your clicks as you go through the ION websites, to tell us whether you have visited ION previously, and to help us determine whether you came to ION from a particular Internet link or banner advertisement. You should check the privacy policies of our business affiliates, advertisers or any other sites to which we may provide hyperlinks if you have concerns about that site’s use of cookies.

Cookies can also be used to help save and retrieve passwords used on the ION site and to save information on favorite uses of our site and other preferences. That way, you won't have to reenter information upon every new visit to the ION website. ION does not and cannot use cookies to retrieve personally identifiable information about you from your computer.
